Sweet Shoppe Saturday: Green Velvet Cupcakes

Happy Saturday!  I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend!  If you haven't noticed, I am trying to implement a regular posting schedule here on the blog.  One of my blogging goals for this year is to have some regular features every week.  I started with Monday's link party "Party In Polka Dots" and this past week I added "Whip It Up Wednesdays".  Today I am beginning a new feature called "Sweet Shoppe Saturday".  On Saturdays I plan to bring you some cupcake inspiration from my growing cupcake business.  I am steadily working at my goal to open a shoppe locally.  Right now I am taking orders over the phone and online and doing my best to fill them from my home... but I am super excited to make this dream of mine come true!

Today's cupcake I want to share with you is this Green Velvet Cupcake, perfect for St. Patty's Day, with my newest frosting!  It has a whipped-cream flavor and is perfect for those who don't like a frosting that is too sweet.  Of course the velvet variation of cake is amazing with cream cheese frosting as well but you can also trace this cake's roots back to using a stove top cooked frosting as I used this week on these Green Velvet Cupcakes.  Pretty yummy if you ask me...

I have never printed a cupcake topper freebie before!  This past week though in an effort to save time I did!  I printed these cute shamrock cupcake toppers from the blog Creations By Kara!   You are going to enjoy Kara's site!  Her pictures are pretty, her cupcake toppers are darling, and she is of course super creative! She must have had a larger circle craft punch than my 2" one though because the circles on her printable were a little larger than 2" punch would allow me, but that's ok!  I really appreciate the printable!  It was a huge time saver and they are cute!  She has 4 different shades of green shamrock cupcake toppers for you to print.  So thoughtful!  I went with the dark green to match my cupcakes.  There were 18 very happy kiddos in my son's 2nd grade class Friday!

Hope you all enjoy this bit of St. Patty's Day inspiration on this first Sweet Shoppe Saturday!

Hugs,

Shelley

  1. These are really attractive! I love the departure from green into orange! Sometimes the same old colors get a little tiring.
