I am excited to be sharing my daughter's Rockin' Pop Star Party she had for her 10th birthday!

My daughter has the sweetest friends!  We have known them since the 1st grade and they are all growing up so fast!  The whole bunch was coming from a sleepover from the night before and they all showed up together at my daughter's party 20 minutes early.  My daughter had partied with them too the night before but I picked her up early from the party so she could get ready for hers.

I was running a little behind so I was so excited to have the girls come a bit early!  They enjoyed helping me set up and put the final touches on things.  We had the party at our church and my daughter had not yet arrived.  Her friends all hid under the tables and surprised her when she got to the party!

I am pretty proud of these DIY Microphones!  They were simply made from foam tubing you can pick up at the hardware store and Christmas ornaments.  I cut the tubing into sections and hot glued an unbreakable Christmas ornament upside down onto each tube.  The foam tubing we bought in about 4-5 foot lengths for $1.50 each.  We bought 2.  The Christmas ornaments I bought on sale after Christmas in an 18 pack for $1.25 or so.  I made 18 microphones for only $4.25!

The girls enjoyed getting glammed up!  They were treated to nail polish, lip gloss, polka dot hair bows, eyeshadow, glitter hair and body spray, and rock star tattoos!

Party favors included ring pops, bubble gum, microphones, sparkly drink huggies, eyeshadow, lip gloss, hair bows, and tattoos.

Refreshments included white cheddar popcorn (Rockin' Popcorn), Hershey Kisses (Pop Kisses), marshmallow ice cream cones (Mini Microphones),  star shaped sugar cookies iced with royal icing and topped with sprinkles (Rock Star Cookies), microphone cupcake cones, Strawberry and Grape bottled Crush (Pop), and of course birthday cupcakes!

I wanted to have pretty "clean" music for the girls to rock out to and decided to go with Hannah Montana and some other Disney artists.  I wasn't sure if the girls were getting "too big" for Hannah Montana but it turned out it was the perfect music!  My favorite moment of the party was when all of the girls got in the center of the dance floor with their microphones and began belting out every word of Hannah Montana's "Best Of Both Worlds" and "Who Said!"  It was so cute!

The girls had so much fun!  My daughter was so happy with her party and her friends were too!

I hope you are all off to a wonderful week!

Shelley

    1. Hey Jessica! I'm sorry! I didn't create a link for them, I think the link you may have clicked was from Infolinks(the ad company I publish ads for). The drink huggies were a Target find around Halloween in the $1 section! :)

  3. Very cute, wholesome party! And, as a grandma, I can't express enough how nice it is for a child to have a set of friends that goes "way back" to first grade. Your friendship and shared values with her parents will make the teenage years much easier - trust me! :)

    1. Thank you J! You always make me smile!! I love that they have friends from "way back" because as a kiddo I moved around a bit and didn't stay at one school until middle school. I love watching them grow up together!
