No-Sew LEGO Head Bean Bags & Template

legobeanbags

I am so excited to share with you these bean bags!  With my older son's 8th birthday now just 2 months away, I really need to buckle down and begin work on his LEGO themed party.  His invitations are underway and I will share them with you soon.  Today however I am going to tell you how to easily make bean bags- no sewing required!  I made these from felt.  I also created a template to share with you if you would like to make LEGO themed bean bags.  You can download it here. Clicking will redirect you to Google Docs where you can download my template- no signing in required.

You will need:

1 9-inch x 12-inch sheet of felt for each bean bag.  The bean bags measure about 5-inches tall and 4-inches wide.  You can easily get 2 LEGO head shapes from each sheet.

Felt for facial features

Fabric glue

Scissors

Dry beans

Tape

LEGO Head Template

Instructions:

Print and cut out template.  Tape backside of template onto one end of felt sheet.  Cut shape out around template.  Repeat at other end of felt sheet and then on each remaining sheet of felt for the LEGO head.  Pair shapes together.  Pipe glue near edges of one LEGO head leaving one of its ends unglued so you can pour beans into it later.  Sandwich the other felt shape onto the one with the glue and press edges together.  Repeat with remaining pairs.  Let dry.  Once dry pour in beans through the end you left open.  Seal all open ends with glue.  Press edges together.  Create your features and glue onto bean bags.  Let dry completely before using.

I am looking forward to sharing more LEGO themed party ideas with you soon!

Happy crafting and celebrating!

Shelley

  1. This is a clever idea. It would be great for a future lego party - now that I have a boy and all.
