It's time for another Mom & Me Creation! Today my daughter and I made Double Chocolate Cake Shakes- our very own invention! I have to say these were SO fun to make together, super easy, and oh SO good!
I am going to get right to the recipe so you can grab your kiddos, get everything you need and get started!
You will need:
1 13x9-inch chocolate cake: We baked our cake the night before. We used a box of Pillsbury Devil's Food cake mix.
3/4 cup milk/shake
3 scoops chocolate ice cream/shake: We used Blue Bell's Dutch Chocolate ice cream.
Whipped cream and sprinkles for garnishing!
Now here's what you do:
If you haven't baked your cake yet, go ahead and bake your cake and let cool completely. It helps to do this ahead of time. After your cake is cool, quarter the cake and then half each quarter. You will have 8 pieces of cake, so you can make a total of 8 shakes! Cut each piece into chunks. Add milk, ice cream, then cake to blender and pulse until blended. Pour into glass, top with whipped cream and sprinkles and ENJOY!
Just look how cute these are in Mason Jars!
We made these for my boys! Another thing that is really great about the Mason Jars is that if your kiddos don't finish their shakes... they are super filling... you can put the lid on the jar and place it in the freezer for later! You may want to set them out to soften a little before serving again.
We hope you enjoyed this Mom & Me Creations post! My daughter and I had a blast making these yummy shakes and another sweet memory too! I hope you get a chance to make these Double Chocolate Cake Shakes with your kiddos!
